"I find this a very interesting website. I never actually lived in Ormiston but I used to go there when my family lived at Loanfoot near Winton House.
I have just had a quick look at some of the subjects and I hope and trust that it will be more informative and interesting.
Incidentally I left East Lothian in 1960 to go to Dumbarton and finally ending in Aylesbury."

Well done.......good looking & informative site! -- John Dodds  (Thanks for the suggestion)

I had a problem downloading some of the information about the village. I picked up the web address from the Courier which my father sends we every week without fail. Twelve years since i left to start a new life in Whittlesey near Peterborough. I would have liked to have seen some people in a selection of the shots, that way it would have been more personal.  ---- John Greig

Greetings from Tennessee, USA! Thank you so much for the wonderful information.  I found your sight while searching for information on my ancestors, the Coburns (Cockburn).  Your information was great and very helpful.  I would love to come visit some day. But seeing your great pictures, I feel like I've been there.       -----  Jamie Coburn

For such a small village an excellent web site .when my father was a football scout for Chelsea F.C. we used to really enjoy going to watch the primrose. Keep up the good work   regards.Bill Stephen

The photograph of the inside of the Church doesn't do this beautiful Church justice.   The photograph should have been taken from the entry end of the Church which would have shown the pews in the foreground leading to the pulpit, communion table, and then onto the beautiful stained glass windows which would make it look like a Church one would want to enter into.  The website photo looks like a community hall, which is not at all welcoming!!    ---   Isobel Surgeon.

Having read your minutes regarding the problem with youths, would the solution to the problem not be the provision of facilities in which the youth could meet and not clutter up the streets?- Anon

Loose the Easyspace advert it is really annoying and making the site look cheap - Sinky

How about adding a local business page to the Ormiston site and give people with businesses in Ormiston some free advertising! - Sinky

Congratulations to Gordon Haig for his brave rescue of the spaniel. We read of it in the electronic edition of the "Courier" and also saw the picture.
