Medical Practice: - Community Council was advised that on one occasion an incident had arisen at the school that required medical attention, there was no one available to attend at the surgery so the pupil had to be taken by bus to Tranent. Details of this to be passed to Councilor R Currie.

The appointment situation does not appear to have improved as first thought so another letter to be done to the Surgery administration.

Festive Lighting:-#1187.00 remains to be paid for the lights this will be met from the millennium a/c & the festive light fund raising a/c.

4. F.C.P.P:-          A workshop was held 16/02/08. This was found to be interesting by those that attended.

R Currie gave a report on how funds were being sought to provide a Community Warden Scheme to replace the current Community liaison Officer. Idea would be to provide a Warden for each Ward & a Co-coordinator.

CCTV to be extended with the purchase of a Mobile CCTV Van

Environmental Wardens dealing with noise, this is now covering the Whole County & Diversity activities to continue.

E L C AT able to move on E L ASBO cases, working jointly with police on Anti-social behavior at all levels.

CCP meeting 13/2/08   no specific village report but a report given by the Police for the whole area.

Parking in the village – Fire Brigade unable to access a call so this is still a problem.

Lighting department – all street lights to be changed to ‘White Lighting’. Do we need additional lights placed in the village? This would be the time to advise the Council so that the work may be done at the same time.  Details to be passed to M Ormiston.

Community Council was advised of an incident in the park where a child was knocked down by a mini – moto, this was reported to the Police but nothing appears to have been done about it. Names to be passed to the Police re this.

Amenities Committee still to meet this month so report deferred till next meeting.

5. Main Street:-

Grass verge out side the CO-op Store remains a problem with Lorries & car continuing to mount the grass next to the Monument.

The co-op has spoken to their drivers but the situation is not helped by the public continuing to park in both the loading bay at the front door of the store & on the main road next to the monument.

A letter to be done to the Council stating that something has to be done to remedy this situation before the historic monument is damaged. We have had 3 goes at sorting this but it still needs sorting. We need bollards to protect the monument & parking restrictions so that offenders can be fined.

Grit boxes: - places have been identified for these to be situated.

7.              Proposed Planning Applications:-

Cockburn Drive: - this had been deferred for a traffic report but has now been passed. J Blane attended the Council meeting; there were 309 objections to the plan.  The traffic department to follow up on this & ‘traffic calming ‘measures to be in place prior to habitation of the new buildings. Failure to do this should result in the situation being revisited as a matter of urgency. If this does not happen it is to be flagged to the Councilors immediately.
